1. Material Preparation

• Select the proper drywall thickness and type based on application:
   
  • ½" standard drywall for interior walls.
     
  • ⅝" Type X fire-rated for ceilings and code-required areas.
     
  • Moisture/mold-resistant (green or purple board) for bathrooms and kitchens.
     
• Deliver and store drywall in climate-controlled conditions to prevent moisture absorption.

• Measure and mark each sheet for accurate fit.
   
• Cut with a utility knife, score and snap method for clean edges.
   
• Openings for outlets, switches or fixtures are pre-cut with precision tools.

• Install sheets horizontally (typical for residential) or vertically (commercial) depending on height and finish preference.
   
• Fasten drywall to studs using coarse-thread screws (wood) or fine-thread screws (metal).
   
• Maintain proper screw spacing — 12" on ceilings, 16" on walls — with slightly indented but unbroken paper faces.
   
• Stagger joints to minimize cracking.

• Apply joint tape over all seams using joint compound (mud).
   
• Embed tape with a first coat, smooth out air bubbles and allow to dry.
   
• Apply second and third coats with wider knives to feather edges smoothly.
   
• Sand between coats for a level finish.

• Install metal or vinyl corner beads on all external corners for clean, reinforced edges.
   
• Fasten securely and embed into compound for durability and straight lines.

• Once all compound coats are dry, sand surfaces to achieve a Level 4 or Level 5 finish depending on paint requirements.
   
• Inspect under natural and artificial light to ensure no visible seams or imperfections.

 7. Final Inspection & Clean-Up 

• Conduct quality control checks for straight walls, smooth finishes and secure fasteners.
   
• Clean the workspace thoroughly and prepare the area for priming and painting.
